About M&M

Kate Brunson, owner of Maple & Mum, founded the business alongside her mother, Nancy Hilton, bringing their shared love of celebrations, natural beauty and thoughtful design to weddings and events in Connecticut and beyond. Inspired by the changing seasons, they partner with local growers to create lush, organic floral designs that feel effortless, personal and beautifully cohesive.

The name Maple & Mum reflects their roots in New England — the maple tree in every home they’ve lived in, and the mum as an homage to motherhood and their favorite season. Together, they’ve built a family business rooted in connection, care and the joy of creating moments couples will remember forever.

At Maple & Mum, we craft weddings that feel personal, effortless and full of life. Guided by the season and rooted in over a decade of experience, each floral design is shaped by the couple’s story and the moments they’ll remember forever.

Their Story

MapleMaple & Mum was born on a cold winter afternoon in 2012, as Kate prepared to return to her office job after the birth of her daughter. Seeking a more meaningful, creative career that allowed her to spend time with her growing family, she turned to her mother, Nancy, for guidance. Nancy remembered the joy of working in their small-town flower shop while raising her own children — creating art with her hands, where hours seemed to fly by. Inspired by that spark, Kate and Nancy officially opened Maple & Mum in May 2015.
